Last week, Magnolia was shut down due to a corrupted
database and said that it would take weeks to settle out the errors. Today, on
their homepage, they state that "so far, my efforts to recover Ma.gnolia's
data store have been unsuccessful. While I'm continuing to work at it, both
from the data store and other sources on the web, I don't want to raise
expectations about our prospects. While certainly unanticipated, I do take
responsibility and apologize for this widespread loss of data."
WebNotes users should feel safe knowing that all user data
is backed up on a daily basis and would easily be recovered in the case of any
sort of server crash. If you'd like a personal backup, try using our
"publish" feature which will allow you to create an HTML or PDF
version of all your annotations!
We sincerely hope that Magnolia is able to get their customers data back.
